Colourpop Lip Products.

A short while ago Colourpop were offering free international delivery over a certain spend for a limited time, so I jumped on this chance to make an order and bought a lovely handful of lip products. This includes their Lippie Stix, Ultra Satin Lip and Ultra Matte Lip and today I am going to share my thoughts on them now that I have had the opportunity to try them out.

Lipstick Love: Autumn.

Autumn makeup is my favourite kind of makeup. Bronze, gold and copper eyes, bold berry lips and dark nudes… Speaking of, for today’s post I thought I’d bring back my Lipstick Love series to take you all through my current favourite lipsticks to wear throughout Autumn.

Lipstick Love: Work Edition.

Lipstick Love Work Edition.jpg

Lipstick Love is a feature on this blog in which I share with you all my love of lipstick by showing you my favourites. Technically, these aren’t all lipsticks, some may be lip glosses, for example, but they will all be lip products which I love. This was a fortnightly series back in January and February, so if you missed my previous posts they can all be found here.

I work in an office and I start work at 6 am, so nude lipsticks are a must. I mean, it would look a bit alarming and over the top to walk into the office at that time in the morning with a bright lipstick, right? On the other hand, I don’t want my lips to be bare! When I started this job I quickly learnt that not just any nude lipstick will do either, it needs to be moisturising because the air is quite dry. So, here are my top five favourite lipsticks to wear to work:

June Favourites 2016.

June Favourites 2016.jpg

I have been doing favourites posts for a whole year now, which means I need to start putting years in the titles so that posts don’t get mixed up, ha. This also means that I have been blogging about beauty for approximately a year now; time just goes so fast. Enough of that though, let’s get into my favourites for this month:

Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Lipstick.

These have been around for a while now, but it’s only more recently that they’ve come to my attention. I bought my first lipstick from this range last year, but it wasn’t until spring of this year that I decided to take a look at the other shades the collection has to offer. It is no surprise that I am a lover of a matte lip, so no wonder of all Maybelline‘s lipsticks, these were the ones I was drawn to as before these I’d never tried any of their lipsticks before.

What’s in My Travel Makeup Bag?

Welcome to Day Two of Disney Week! Today I thought I would share with you all the makeup products I am taking with me to Disneyland Paris.

I don’t know about you, but I am someone who likes taking my makeup with me on the plane. I mean, it’s fragile; last thing I want is a powder to shatter or a broken/leaking bottle of foundation! Not to mention the fact that some of the products I own are expensive. Although, thinking about it, I’m not actually taking much high end makeup with me on this holiday.

Lipstick Love: Corals.

Come Spring and Summer I love wearing a coral lip, so I have reawakened my Lipstick Love series to share with you my favourite coral coloured lipsticks.

MAC Lipstick Collection.

MAC Lipsticks.jpg

I never thought this was a video I would ever be able to make because I never expected to own enough MAC lipsticks to really qualify (in my opinion) for a MAC Lipstick Collection video. However, I then bought about four MAC lipsticks in the space of two months and so I thought eight was a good number, worthy of making a video.

The Lip Product Tag.

A few weeks ago now I was tagged by the lovely Samantha at Blended to Perfection to do the Lip Product Tag. As you are all probably well aware by now, I love lipsticks and my collection is ever-growing, so I was very happy to have been tagged to do this.

What is your favourite lip balm or treatment?

For someone who cannot leave the house without lipstick, I am terrible at looking after my lips. I haven’t tried that many lip balms, but I do quite like the Maybelline Baby Lips lip balms. I have found that some shades/flavours are more effective that others and it is probably not the best product at treating dry lips, though my favourite is Cherry. However, Clarins do have some lovely moisturising lip products, I especially love their Rouge Eclat lipstick.

What is your favourite eye-catching red?

If we’re talking bright red there can be no other than MAC Russian Red. It’s a gorgeous matte red with a blue undertone and I love it so much. However, if you are looking for a new red, I advise you to check out my post on my favourite red lipsticks which also contains swatches!

Best luxury and drugstore product? Also, best MAC lipstick?

I do not have that many high end lipsticks. In fact, I think my only ones are by Elizabeth Arden and Clarins. Out of these it’s a tricky choice, but I think the best is the Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Colour Moisturising Lipstick and the shade I own is Scarlet.

For drugstore lip product, I personally think the best ones are the Rimmel Kate Moss lipsticks from both the Lasting Finish and Matte collection. They are long lasting, beautiful in colour, have a nice scent and don’t dry out my lips.

I only own matte MAC lipsticks. In total I think I have four and I love them all. Because I have already mentioned Russian Red in this tag, I won’t pick that one. I think I will go for Velvet Teddy, a gorgeous nude which basically suits anybody and is perfect for all occasions and all year round.

Most disappointing lip product?

No7 High Shine Lip Crayon. It was really sheer and I found it to be rather drying on my lips, so it was really disappointing, especially after having liked previous No7 lip products I had tried.

Lip liner: yes or no?

Not really, I’m afraid. I know that I probably should sometimes, but I’ve gotten used to applying lipstick without lip liner, so I always forget.

Favourite lipgloss?

I am not a big lipgloss lover. It tends to be really sticky and there is always a 99% chance that my hair will get stuck in it at some point during the day if I’m wearing it. As a result of this, I do not own and haven’t tried many, so I can literally only talk about one lipgloss here and it is by Tanya Burr Cosmetics.

Thank you again Samantha for tagging me, I encourage you all to check out her lovely blog and now it’s my turn to tag a few people:

Spring Makeup Wishlist.

Spring Makeup Wishlist.jpg

“The world is not a wish-granting factory.” – John Green.

Spring is generally the month in which everything gets lighter; the sky, the clothes and even the makeup. Since basically September I have been favouring the darkest possible lip colours and then a bit more recently nudes. However, now that we are in March, the pinky-nude shades and corals are taking my fancy and I’m not just talking about on the lips.
