Last month I didn’t do a book haul because I was on a book ban which I successfully stuck to. However, I couldn’t stay away from Waterstones forever and so this month I did do a bit of spending. In total I bought eleven books this month, although two of them I actually forgot to include in the photo above and the other three are ebooks.

Review: A Monster Calls by Patrick Ness.

a monster callsThis book has been sat on my bedside table for approximately two years now and because I’ve just been buying more books they just ended up getting stacked on top of it. This past week though I’ve been struggling to do much reading so I had a long look at my book stack and finally decided that it was time to pick this beauty of a book up.

In the past I have read several books by Ness and have greatly enjoyed them all and this book is no exception. It has been a long time since I’ve read anything by Ness, so it was really lovely to read more of his writing and I still have more to look forward to as I also have The Rest of Us Just Live Here on my TBR ready to read. I am so glad that all those years ago one of my best friends of the time introduced me to Ness through the Chaos Walking trilogy as his work is always really unique and incredible. You can also tell I love his work as except for J. K. Rowling and Lemony Snicket, he is the only author for which I own more than one hardback copy of his books.
