Lipstick Love: Autumn.

Autumn makeup is my favourite kind of makeup. Bronze, gold and copper eyes, bold berry lips and dark nudes… Speaking of, for today’s post I thought I’d bring back my Lipstick Love series to take you all through my current favourite lipsticks to wear throughout Autumn.

I’m sure you all know the drill by now, so let’s dive straight in…

MAC Whirl:

It took me a while to understand everyone’s adoration over this shade of lipstick, but now I cannot get enough of it. I love that this is dark enough to wear in the evenings without being too bold, but also not too dark so that it is suitable for everyday wear. This is a perfect all-rounder lipstick.

Kat Von D Lolita:

As many of you will be aware, Kat Von D recently came to the UK, so I couldn’t not get Lolita. This gorgeous liquid lipstick reminds me a lot of Whirl, only it’s darker, has a warmer undertone and has astonishing staying power on the lips.

MAC Diva:

A gorgeous berry red shade with a purple/pink undertone. I recently wore this in an autumn makeup look (blog post here) and received some lovely comments on the lipstick. This definitely has to be one of my favourite berry lipsticks, plus it is also matte; it’s that time of year now where I just want matte lips all the time.

Rimmel 107:

Ah, a classic. I haven’t worn this very much lately, but I am rather close to finishing it so I definitely intend to wear this gorgeous shade some more this autumn. It may be weird that I am eager to finish a lipstick, but I have never finished a lipstick before and I already have a back up of this particular one!

Charlotte Tilbury Glastonberry:

As someone who is not a massive lover of pink, I do tend to prefer my lipsticks, especially my berry ones, to lean more on the purple side. Purple toned lipsticks can be a little tricky, because they often are more red, or frighteningly dark. I feel that Glastonberry is the perfect mix of purple and bold and I absolutely love it, although due to the price, this is definitely a lipstick for more special occasions.

You may have noticed that I haven’t been the most descriptive of these lipsticks in terms of colour and that’s because I have some swatches. Also, you may have noted that I haven’t mentioned much about finishes and that’s because they are all matte (the second one may not look it, but it’s because it’s fresh and the liquid lipstick hadn’t had a chance to dry before I took a photo).
