POTTER WEEK | Day Three.

hpatpoaWelcome to Day Three of Potter Week!

Day three means book three so today we are talking about Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. If you have missed any of the previous posts of Potter Week you may want to read those first and you can find them here:

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is one of my favourites of all the Harry Potter books and even films; I can’t remember exactly but I definitely recall seeing this film in the cinema about four or five times as I enjoyed it so much. So, let’s look at some of the more specific things that I loved in Prisoner of Azkaban

hpatcosWelcome to Day Two of Potter Week!

If you missed Day One with the introduction to Potter Week and what it is you can find that here.

If you’re up to date, then let’s jump straight into Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and exactly what I loved throughout this book.

POTTER WEEK | Day One.

hpatpsI have an exciting week ahead for all you Harry Potter fans because I am officially declaring this week Potter Week on driftinglexi! This is something I was actually tagged to do a little over a month ago by Shivalika over at Whimsy Journals, but I held off responding until this week. This is because this week it is the 1st September, and therefore it seemed appropriate with that being the day everyone returns to Hogwarts.

Potter Week is a tag where you go through each of the Harry Potter books each day of the week and discuss some of your favourite things about each book. Obviously, this works out well because there are seven days and seven Harry Potter books.

Marble and Glitter Nails.

I am still getting my nails done every few weeks, so it’s time for me to show you what I currently have on my nails. Life is feeling rather hectic at the moment, so being able to have my nails done is such a huge relief because they can look pretty with minimal effort on my part, plus I don’t have to worry about my nails breaking. I also find that having strong gel nails enables me to do things I otherwise wouldn’t be able to do… like opening drink cans, haha.

LUSH: BB Seaweed Face Mask.

IMG_0524.JPG

It’s only been a couple of weeks since my last LUSH face mask review, but I seem to be flying through them rather quickly now. BB Seaweed is only the latest of those I’ve reviewed, so definitely make sure you check out the other reviews if face masks and/or LUSH products interest you.

BB Seaweed is one of those face masks offered by LUSH that you don’t seem to hear very much about. As a result, it only made me more intrigued and after my curiosity with Ayesha leading to slight disappointment, I was eager to find another face mask that would impress me. So, was I successful…?

Skincare Empties.

Skincare Empties.jpg

This year I have started doing empties posts and recently I have found that all of my empties are skincare related. As a result, since I have so many, instead of waiting until the end of the summer I have decided to have an empties dedicated to skincare. To be honest, this is a post I have been procrastinating and this means that I now have more skincare empties than just those pictured above…oops.

Eden’s Semilla: 100% Pure Jojoba Oil.

Jojoba Oil.jpg

I recently received Eden’s Semilla 100% Pure Jojoba Oil and have been using it for the past two weeks. This is a completely honest review of the product and if you like the sound of the product I will leave a link at the end to where you can buy it.

Eden’s Semilla‘s Jojoba Oil is a 100% natural and organic product with a close resemblance to human sebum which we naturally produce through our skin glands. As a result of this, it is incredible as a moisturiser, not only for your face, but your skin, hair and nails. Due to it being all natural this product is suitable for those with sensitive skin, as well as those with dry and combination skin types.

Summer Nail Favourites.

Summer Nail Favourites.jpg

Recently, I haven’t been the most creative when it comes to my nails. I’ve either been lazy and simply done them a single colour, or I’ve been really lazy and had a professional do them for me so that I don’t have to touch them for three weeks. Since gels do dry out your nails, every now and then I do my own nails to give them time to heal and rest, but I still cannot have bare nails. So, today I am going to show you my go to summer nail polishes during these times.

Behind the Scenes Tag.

I haven’t done a tag for a while and I especially do not do non-bookish tags very often, so when I noticed that the lovely Chanelle tagged me to do the Behind the Scenes tag I thought I would do it. So, here we go..

What camera do you use?

For my photos I use a mixture of my phone, a Samsung Galaxy S5 and my Canon G7X. This is a very popular camera amongst vloggers and it’s perfect for using both blog-wise and YouTube-wise. The camera is great quality, I like the flip-up screen for filming and it is perfect for travelling as this was how I filmed my Disneyland Paris videos.

What editing system do you use?

I love using PicMonkey to edit my photos. Bonus: it’s free.

Do you use artificial or natural lighting?

Natural lighting, though this is always a struggle to deal with in the winter.

What is the top item on your filming wishlist?

As a result of the above I would have to go with some artificial lighting! Or perhaps a tripod as it would make taking photos and filming easier.

What is your favourite day in the week to film/write/photograph?

I don’t necessarily have a favourite day of the week for filming, writing or photographing. Generally, I try to take most of my photos Saturday mornings because I like to do it in bulk and when natural lighting is best, but I don’t allocate writing to specific days. Similarly, filming I do whenever I feel like it.

Do you plan your posts? If so, how?

I am a massive planner. I love organising things, so I greatly enjoy planning my blog posts. For me, the best way to do this is by having a month view of my posts as I have certain types of posts that go up on certain days. For example, my Favourites posts are always the last Friday of the month, my book hauls the last Sunday and nail posts are always on a Wednesday.

Here’s a screenshot of what it looks like:

How long does it take you to write and photograph a post?

This is very dependant on what type of post I am writing. I think the longest post I have ever taken to write is my trip to Rome which took about four hours. However, most posts generally take roughly an hour.

How many hours do you spend editing an average post?

I tend to edit as I go when writing, so when I’ve finished writing I’ll do two or three read-throughs of it to ensure that it’s perfect.

Favourite types of posts to write?

I love writing about holidays and days out. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough of these to write about them frequently on my blog!

Do people at your school or work know about your blog?

Definitely not, I’m not very close with my colleagues haha.

What is your process of thinking of a blog idea?

Blog ideas are mostly drawn from things I’ve recently bought, recently read, or just anything that I am currently loving and want to share.

Do you feel awkward filming in front of other people or in public?

Oh yes, haha. I can barely Snapchat in public!

Do you and your blogging friends plan out posts together?

Every now and then yes. I have some collabs here.

What is your subscriber goal by the end of the year?

I would really love to hit 500 on WordPress before the end of the year, hehe.

So those are all of the questions!

I am not going to tag anyone, but if you fancy doing the tag yourself then feel free to do so and once again, thank you Chanelle for tagging me.
