July Favourites 2016

July has been a really good month in terms of discovering new favourites. There are lots of products you can see pictured above that I have absolutely fallen in love with this month and I also have a couple of objects not pictured…

Summery Green Nails.

I’ve had my nails done again! I really haven’t been feeling creative enough lately to paint nail designs myself, but I have been really enjoying creating them in my head and getting my nail technician to do them, especially when she has so many more different shades of colour and glitter available as well as different tools. Furthermore, it’s such a relief having my nails done because I always have gels which last so long and I do not have to worry about them at all!

My Skincare Routine.

my skincare routine.jpg

It’s shocking that I have never actually shared my skincare routine on this blog considering how much I love skincare. I am always eager to share my favourite face masks and my favourite moisturisers, but I’ve never revealed everything. I feel quite lucky with my skin; sure it can get very dry and occasionally becomes very sensitive and while I do have breakouts, they are often few and far between. As a whole, I suppose I have good skin and as a result my skincare routine isn’t a very long one.

Review: On the Other Side by Carrie Hope Fletcher.

on the other sideVery recently, Carrie’s second book was published. Unlike her first book, All I Know Now (review here), this book is a piece of fiction.

On the Other Side is the story of Evie Snow. The novel begins late in her life, in fact, technically not even in her life as she has just passed away. Evie now has to face the secrets she’s kept to herself for over fifty years in order to unburden herself and gain access to her own personal heaven.

LUSH: Brazened Honey Face Mask.

Brazened Honey 2

I think I first mentioned my desire to try the Brazened Honey face mask several months ago now, so I was so happy to finally get my hands on it and give it a go for myself. I have heard a lot of mixed opinions on it which made me even more eager to use it, though at the same time I couldn’t help but be a little wary. However, my worries were for nothing because I love this face mask.

Brazened Honey aims to revitalise your skin. It is a very rough face mask, the roughest I have ever before tried, which makes it perfect for exfoliating and leaving your skin feeling wonderful and soft.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child #KeepTheSecrets.

IMG_0372.JPG

#KeepTheSecrets; this post will not contain any spoilers for the play. I will give a very brief overview of it and share my thoughts on the play, but I will not be giving anything away.

If you watch my snapchat stories you will have noticed that this time last week I was in London. I briefly touched on this in a post earlier this week since my purpose for being in London was to go and see the new Harry Potter play.

Collective Haul: London Edition.

collective haul london edition.jpg

Last week I spent a few days in London with my best friends. The purpose of the trip was to see the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child which you will hear more about on this blog later this week, but while we were in London we also did plenty of shopping. It is no secret that London is home to a great many of stores which contain products that are not available so easily in the rest of the UK. Of course, there’s online ordering, but when it comes to makeup you want to test it out in person and when it comes to LUSH Oxford Street exclusives, there’s only one place you can go…

Review: Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella.

Finding Audrey“The thing about brains, which you might not know, is they’re not just one ball of jelly. They’re all divided into bits, and some bits are great and some are just a waste of space. In my humble opinion.”

Finding Audrey is my first Sophie Kinsella book and it has definitely left me keen to read more of her work. In this book our main character, Audrey, suffers from anxiety. Following a traumatic experience, Audrey is left unable to leave the house and finds it difficult to remove her dark glasses even at home. When her brother invites Linus round, they start exchanging notes and with his help Audrey has a new found courage to leave the house, to talk to people and to heal.

Nail Art Through the Years.

I have been doing nail art for approximately three years now. Throughout the past year on this blog I have been sharing multiple nail designs weekly (until more recently anyway). However, there have been some nail art designs I’ve created that I’ve struggled to fit into a category, or I’ve just struggled to post a photo of because they look so bad. So, for today’s post I have decided to reveal these nail designs to you, year by year, and hopefully as the post goes on we’ll see some improvement.

Review: The Hidden Oracle by Rick Riordan.

the hidden oracle“That’s the nice thing about being human. We only have one life, but we can choose what kind of story it’s going to be.” ― Rick Riordan.

I received a digital copy of this book through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

A couple of months ago the first book in a new series by Rick Riordan was published. Like two of his previous series’ (Percy Jackson and the Olympians and The Heroes of Olympus), this series is based around Greek mythology and includes characters from Riordan’s previous books.
