Review: Four by Veronica Roth.

“I’ll have to keep looking for more of them, more brief moments of freedom in a world that refuses to allow it.” – Veronica Roth.

fourThe book is a prequel of sorts to the Divergent series by Veronica Roth. More importantly, this book is written from the perspective of Four, or Tobias, rather than Tris. It contains four stories; The Transfer, The Initiate, The Son and The Traitor.

I must admit that I did like reading this book. It was interesting to have more insight on Four and especially all of the moments in Four’s life which eventually led to the events of Divergent taking place.

I enjoyed the first few stories; however, the last few containing Tris were rather unnecessary in my opinion. They were well written and lovely to read, but the moments with Tris basically repeat Divergent and don’t really offer anything new except for the moments when he’s not with Tris. Then again, using Tris allowed us to better understand the storyline as we knew where in the plot particular events were happening.

Overall, this was a nice book to read as a fan of the Divergent series and therefore I would recommend it to anyone else who is also a fan.

If you have read Four, what are your views on the stories? Do you have a favourite? Feel free to comment below.
